Coach Buescher (Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator)

Coach Buescher enters his twelfth season at the helm of the Roughriders.  Under Coach Buescher, the Roughriders’ have improved from an 0-10 record in 2002 to back to back 12-1 season in 2006 and 2007, a 10-3 record in 2008,  a 9-2 record in 2009, a 12-1 record in 2010, and a 10-3 record in 2011.  The Riders have qualified for the OHSAA Division 5 playoffs the six of the last seven seasons advancing to the Regional Championship game in 2006, 2007, 2008,  2010 and 2011.  The Roughriders have captured five of six Mid State League Cardinal Championships compiling a 44-5 record in league play. 

Coach Buescher received the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 Mid-State League Coach of the Year, 2009 Mid Sate League Ernie Gaudfry Award Winner,  2006 Division 5 Central District Coach of the Year, 2006, 2007, and 2009 Central District Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year, 2009 District 14 Sportsmanship and Integrity Award, and was honored by the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association in 2006 by being named and assistant on the South Squad for the Grange Insurance North/South Classic.  Coach Buescher was also honored with the 2006 Outstanding Educator Award presented by Central Ohio Special Education Regional Resource Center. 

Along with his head coaching duties Coach Buescher is the Quarterback Coach. Prior to being the Head Coach at West Jefferson, Coach Buescher was the Offensive Coordinator at both Oak Hill and Westfall High School.  He also served as an Assistant Coach at Chillicothe and Wellston.   Coach Buescher graduated from the University of Rio Grande with a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education and earned his masters degree in Administration from the University of Cincinnati.  He is employed as Dean of Students/Athletic Director at West Jefferson High School.  He resides in West Jefferson with his wife Andrea, an elementary teacher in the Jefferson Local School District, sons Tyler and Austin, and dogs Tootsie and Mollie.


 

Coach Koehler (Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Strength Coach)  

Coach Koehler will begin his twelfth season as Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator at West Jefferson.  Coach Koehler has orchestrated a defense that has been the backbone of the Roughriders’ success.  Along with his Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator duties, Coach Koehler is in charge of the Linebackers and Running Backs.  Coach Koehler received the 2009 Central District Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the year.  Along with his coaching success, Coach Koehler received the 2006 Outstanding Educator Award presented by Central Ohio Special Education Regional Resource Center. 

Prior to being an Assistant at West Jefferson, Coach Koehler was an Assistant at Westfall High School.  Coach Koehler graduated from the Wittenberg University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Education and later received a Degree in Special Education from Urbana University.  He is employed as an Intervention Specialist at West Jefferson High School.  Coach Koehler resides in Grove City with his wife Brandi, son Landen, daughter Lainey and dogs Blitzen and Bo.    



          
Coach Adams (Assistant Coach, Offensive Coordinator, College Recruiting Coordinator)  

Coach Adams will begin his twelfth season as College Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach at West Jefferson High School.  He is also in charge of the Offensive Line and Defensive Ends.  Along with those responsibilities Coach Adams is the West Jefferson Football Website Coordinator.  He has also been extremely successful in placing many Roughrider players on college football rosters.  Coach Adams received the 2009 ten year service award from the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association. 

Prior to being an Assistant at West Jefferson, Coach Adams was an Assistant at Bellaire High School.  Coach Adams graduated from Allegheny College with a Degree in Communications and later received his teaching certification from Ashland University.  He also earned his master in administration from Ashland University.  He is employed as a Social Studies teacher and tutor at West Jefferson High School. Coach Adams resides in Galloway with his wife Melissa, daughters Hailey and Alexis, and dog Riley.
