Substitute Bus Drivers

Jefferson Local Schools is currently seeking substitute bus drivers.  Drivers are required to have a Class B CDL with S/P Endorsement.  If you are interested in the position but do not have these requirements and have a good driving record, paid training may be available.  Applications are available at the Central Office 906 West Main Street, West Jefferson, OH.  If you have questions please call 614-801-2195.

Substitute Custodians

Jefferson Local Schools is currently accepting applications for on-call substitute custodians.  Positions will work four to eight hour shifts between 10:30 AM and 11:00 PM.  Candidates must be 18 years or older.  Applications are available at the Central Office 906 West Main St, West Jefferson, OH.  If you have questions, please call 614-801-2195

Jefferson Local School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Payroll and HR Coordinator. This is a full time position in the Treasurer's office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  1. Process regular payroll, special payroll, and process checks and direct deposits for distribution
  2. Maintain payroll and insurance records as required by the Board of Education and other governmental agencies
  3. Maintain a complete and orderly filing system
  4. Compile and input to computer all information necessary to establish employee records for new employees and update records for current employees
  5. Prepare payroll, local, state, and federal tax reports
  6. Maintain and update records on individual payroll deductions
  7. Verify and submit employee deductions to the proper agencies each month or as required 
  8. Maintain records for all sick, unrestricted, vacation, and other leave information and enter usage to the payroll system
  9. Prepare, verify, and submit all records and reports related to payroll; deposits for federal, state, and local tax departments; and monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports
  10. Process and submit W-2s to the proper agencies and provide all employees with copies at year-end
  11. Prepare and submit all records and reports to STRS and SERS
  12. Distribute information and forms to employees regarding leave, payroll, and insurance matters
  13. Compute insurance premium amounts for both employees and the Board of Education and maintain a computer database of premium contributions
  14. Submit enrollment and change forms to the insurance company and maintain copies for district files
  15. Maintain all records and forms for COBRA insurance
  16. Act as district liaison with insurance company and medical providers
  17. Verify insurance payments and maintain records and receipts for insurance premiums received
  18. Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation
  19. Attend meetings and in-services as required
  20. Maintain a comprehensive salary and benefit spreadsheet for all district employees and keep up to date
  21. Must have strong computer skills and knowledge.
