CREDIT PLUS (CCP)

Earning College and High School
Credit while in middle school and high school at little or no cost to the
student and family.
Established
in the Fall of 2015, replacing dual enrollment and PSEO, the purpose of the CCP
program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety
of options to college-ready students.
Students
who will be in grades 7-12 in 2019-20 can apply for CCP
admission to a public (tuition at no cost) or participating private college
(possible reduced cost at private colleges) after indicating (to West Jefferson
Schools) their intent to participate by April 1.
Colleges
will admit students based on their college readiness in one or more subject
areas.

H.S. and college credit at the same time.
Get
a “head start” on college degrees or certificates.
Gain
an understanding of college work/life.
Save
tuition and textbook costs.
CONSEQUENCES
of UNDERPERFORMING in CCP:
Withdrawal
too late from or failure of the course may result in the family reimbursing the
school district.
Grades
earned will be on the student’s college and high school transcripts and become
part of his/her academic record.
Poor
performance may result in college academic probation or dismissal.
Repeated
withdrawals or failures may negatively impact future financial aid.

Parents (and students if possible) should plan to attend the CCP INFORMATION SESSION, Parent-Teacher Conference Night,
Thursday, February 14, 2019, 6:30-8
pm in the West Jefferson HS/MS Media Center.
Representatives
from The Ohio State University, Columbus State CC, and Clark State CC will be
available to speak with students and their parents.
Parents
and students attending will be able to file a non-binding “Intent to
Participate Form”(mandatory for participation and due to the home
school by April 1) that evening.
Parents
unable to attend the February 14 meeting may make alternate arrangements with
Mr. Palazzo, WJHS counselor.
