“HAWAIIAN NIGHTS” HOMECOMING DANCE

Mentor High School’s Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Tickets will be on sale starting Monday, September 23rd through Friday, September 27th. Tickets will be sold before school and during all lunch mods. Tickets are $13/single and $25/couple. Cash or Check (payable to MHS PTSA). If you are bringing a guest that does not attend MHS, you must have your guest complete a Guest Form which can be picked up in all of the Unit Offices. This Guest Form must be completed before Homecoming tickets can be purchased for a guest. Please fill out your Ticket and Picture Order Form in PEN (NO Pencil).
HOMECOMING MEETINGS
PLEASE JOIN US for our Homecoming Planning Meetings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the ParadigM on the following dates:
September 12th (Thursday) in ParadigM 4
September 19th (Thursday) in ParadigM 4
September 24th (Tuesday) in ParadigM 4 (Chaperone Instructions)
September 26th (Thursday) in ParadigM Classroom {Gymside} (Chaperone Instructions)
You do not have to come to all of the meetings or stay the whole time. If you cannot attend the Homecoming Planning Meetings and you would still like to volunteer with planning, preparations, ticket sales, chairing subcommittees, chaperoning, etc., or if you have any questions, please contact Renee DiNovo at [email protected] or text (440) 796-8651 (please mention Homecoming in the email or the text). HOMECOMING POSTER CONTEST
- PTSA is having a poster designing contest for 2019’s Hawaiian Nights' Homecoming Dance! The winner will receive a free ticket to the 2019 Hawaiian Nights' Homecoming Dance! The poster design has to be aligned with the theme/title (Hawaiian Nights) and needs to include the following information:
Hawaiian Nights, Saturday, September 28th from 8-11 p.m., a single ticket is $13, and a couples' ticket is $25.
Please submit your entries via email to Mrs. DiNovo, [email protected] (email design or email to make arrangements to deliver poster design) or to the Main Office. The deadline for the Poster Contest is Friday, September 13, 2019. The winner will receive a free ticket into the 2019 Hawaiian Nights Homecoming Dance!
Project Hope
- During the week of September 16th, we will be collecting donations for Project Hope, Lake County’s homeless shelter, in the lower Hub. The donations will be going to help set up a teen first night bag at the shelter. We are looking for new, unused socks, blank notepads, coloring supplies, YA novels, and blank sudokus, crosswords, or word searches. There will be a box located in the Hub to collect donations. For more information, see the flyers located by the box at the Hub.
Athletics
- Attention All Seniors: don't forget to stop in the Athletic Department Office and place your nomination for this year’s Homecoming King and Queen. Nominations will be taken today through the end of the day on Friday. Don't forget, do it today!
- There will be a meeting for any student being part of the bowling team this winter. The meeting will be held on Monday 9/16 at Game of Mentor at 3:30pm. If you cannot attend email coach Phillips at [email protected]
Guidance Office
- Seniors - if you are interested in earning an Honors diploma, please fill out the survey on the Class of 2020 Schoology page by Monday, September 30th.
Clubs
- ATTENTION all anglers: The Fishing Club meeting has been changed to 2:30 today in H101, see Mr. Nemunaitis if you have any questions.
- JOIN ECOLOGY CLUB! This club is open to all interested students. We meet about three times a month for 20-45 minutes on Thursdays. Once a month we have pizza. You will be helping the planet, the school and get community service hours. Meet in C-106 Thursday, Sept. 12 @ 2:30 pm. Did someone say pizza?
- One last reminder that Future Leaders in meeting tomorrow at 7 a.m. in B-Lec. Come join us and bring a friend!
- Inkwell! Don't forget that the Inkwell meets every Monday, including next Monday, right after school in F107 at the end of F wing. Looking to join? Then come to our meeting on Monday, right after school for the Inkwell.
- Attention, all students who may be interested in joining GAHTAH! There will be a brief 15 minute informational meeting on Tuesday September 17th immediately after school in room D105.
- We are looking for students who take pride in cheering on our student body and putting the “Pride” in Cardinal Pride. Any students interested in helping to plan for games, promote spirit weeks, organize related spirit events, etc. should join Mrs. Toot on Thursday, September 19th from 2:30-3:00 in room D102. Bring your ideas! GO CARDS!!
