William Penn First Graders learned about Japanese culture and schools, thanks to a visit to their classroom by representatives from the Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania.
The students learned how to locate Japan on a map and the students were able to try on traditional Japanese clothing, as well as examine Japanese textbooks and backpacks.
They learned some words in Japanese and saw a demonstration of Japanese writing.
Then it was time for some hands-on learning, as the students were taught how to make an origami Christmas tree and Santa.
Each student also was presented with a piece of paper with their name written on it in Japanese.
The students are taught by
Mrs. Joseph and
Mrs. Williams. Please click
