COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS (CCP)

 Meeting,Thurs, 2/14/19,6:30-8 pm,WJHS/MS
Earning College and High School Credit while in middle school and high school at little or no cost to the student and family.

Established in the Fall of 2015, replacing dual enrollment and PSEO, the purpose of the CCP program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students.

Students who will be in grades 7-12 in 2019-20 can apply for CCP admission to a public (tuition at no cost) or participating private college (possible reduced cost at private colleges) after indicating (to West Jefferson Schools) their intent to participate by April 1.

Colleges will admit students based on their college readiness in one or more subject areas.

BENEFITS:

Earn H.S. and college credit at the same time.

Get a “head start” on college degrees or certificates.

Gain an understanding of college work/life.

Save tuition and textbook costs.

CONSEQUENCES of UNDERPERFORMING in CCP:

Withdrawal too late from or failure of the course may result in the family reimbursing the school district.

Grades earned will be on the student’s college and high school transcripts and become part of his/her academic record.

Poor performance may result in college academic probation or dismissal.

Repeated withdrawals or failures may negatively impact future financial aid.
